Interview Techniques Training Courses
Modules for those involved in interviewing, to improve selection of the most promising candidates and recognize and reject those less suited.
Many experienced interviewers will tell you that they know "within the first five minutes" whether an interviewee is "any good". The interviewer when asked will tell you that they "just had a feeling" or an "intuition" or that the person looked or sounded "right".
The question is: against what criteria is the interviewer making these judgments?
Often the unconscious process is to reference the interviewee against ourselves; our beliefs and values that are often culturally referenced. We therefore pick someone like us, rather than someone fit for function. Of course this can work well when the interviewer is looking for someone just like them, however, diversity and balance in the work team can be lost if everyone has the same strengths and weaknesses.
At Anchor Point Marine Consultants we have studied the psychological aspects of interviewing and can deliver practical training for your personnel officers and others involved in selecting your new recruits. The training will allow them to develop profiles and models of the desirable traits for your new recruits and techniques for recognizing these in interviews.
We can train your personnel officers to approach interviewing methodically. They will be able to produce well formed outcomes for interviews and categorize candidates by their suitability for the role within your company.
They will be able to review your whole recruitment process with specific focus on recognizing and recruiting excellence.
Key Benefits
- Selection made against criteria that is aligned with your company's need.
